Crispy Waffles Recipe

Ingredients 

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour ▢1/2 cup cornstarch ▢1 tsp baking powder ▢1/2 tsp baking soda ▢1 1/2 cups buttermilk ▢3/4 cup vegetable oil ▢1/2 cup whole milk ▢2 large eggs, separated ▢2 tbsp sugar ▢1 tsp vanilla extract

Step 1

Combine flour, cornstarch, salt, baking powder and baking soda in a medium bowl.

In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, vegetable oil, milk and egg yolks.

 Add the sugar and vanilla beat until glossy.

Step 4

Beat the egg whites until soft peaks form.

Step 5

Add the liquid ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just blended (there may be a few lumps, which is okay). Fold in egg whites until just mixed in.

Pour batter into a preheated waffle iron and bake until browned and crisp.
